The Hunter

Soaring Arrow could feel the heartbeat of the earth as no one else could. His deaf ears prevented him from hearing crickets chirp, birds sing, or fish splash, but they did not thwart his ability to feel subtle vibrations. He knew the exact moment when a fish swam near him. He could stand perfectly still, waist-deep, and then suddenly plunge his arm into the water, raising his hand above his head, holding a flapping fish. He could find rabbits that were hiding in hollow trees and bushes. If White Eagle was to find a feast this bleak winter morning, he knew he should take Soaring Arrow with him.
