Steve Ding, Proprietor

This trio has passion. We enjoyed watching audience anticipation build when lead guitarist Mitch made up his mind and had not yet revealed to listeners what he was going to share next. He did this fairly often, deliberate or impromptu, it was great. This energetic and loud, but not deafening, band is accomplished and they flat-out deliver first-rate musicianship with little fanfare. If you like Eric Clapton, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and jazzy-blues with strong rock punches you’ll dig this band. Message Email for Mitch: pacini.novelist at

For me there is something primitively soothing about this music,
and it went straight to my nervous system, making me feel ten feet tall.
Eric Clapton

Music doesn't lie.
If there is something to be changed in this world,
then it can only happen through music.
Jimi Hendrix

Between sets I'd sneak to the black places to hear blues musicians.
It got to the point where I was making my living at white clubs
and having my fun at the other places.
Stevie Ray Vaughan

And that's the soulful thing about playing:
you offer something to somebody.
You don't know if they'll like it,
but you offer it.
Wynton Marsalis

The inner fire is the most important thing mankind possesses.
Edith Södergran

The object isn't to make art;
it's to be in that wonderful state
which makes art inevitable.
Robert Henri

The creative process is a process of surrender, not control.
Julia Cameron

All creative people want to do the unexpected.
Hedy Lamarr

A studio recording is perfection,
but emotion and passion come only
when you turn on the machine
and go for the groove.
If you do that with no mistakes,
it sounds beautiful.
Chuck Mangione

It bugs me when people try to
analyze jazz as an intellectual theorem.
It's not, its feeling.
Bill Evans

The sound of an amplified guitar
in a room full of people
was so hypnotic and addictive to me,
that I could cross any kind of border
to get on there.
Eric Clapton

We are here, as far as I can tell, to help each other;
our brothers, our sisters, our friends, our enemies,
to help each other and not hurt each other.
Stevie Ray Vaughan

The memory of things gone is important to a jazz musician.
Things like old folks singing in the moonlight
in the back yard on a hot night
or something said long ago.
Louis Armstrong

Life beats down and crushes the soul;
art reminds you that you have one.
Stella Adler

When you get a groove going, time flies.
Donald Fagen

I’ve never known a musician who regretted being one.
Whatever deceptions life may have in store for you,
music itself is not going to let you down.
Virgil Thomson

It's the group sound that's important,
even when you're playing a solo.
You not only have to know your own instrument,
you must know the others and how
to back them up at all times.
That's jazz.
Oscar Peterson

Art leaves something to the listener;
that's what separates art from craft.
Henry Threadgill

Once I was checking into a hotel
and a couple saw my ring
with Blues on it.
They said, “You play blues.
That music is so sad.”
I gave them tickets to the show,
and they came up
afterwards and said,
“You didn't play one sad song.”
Buddy Guy

I wish they'd had electric guitars
in cotton fields back in the good old days.
A whole lot of things would've been straightened out.
Jimi Hendrix

Constant change is here to stay.
Author Unknown

The whole thing of being in music
is not to control it but to be swept away by it.
If you're swept away by it you can't wait to do it again
and the same magical moments always come.
Bobby Hutcherson

Lots of times I'll play lead and rhythm together.
Stevie Ray Vaughan

At times our own light goes out
and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude
of those who have lighted the flame within us.
Albert Schweitzer

If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph:
The only proof he needed for the existence of God was music.
Kurt Vonnegut

Almost everything
the Beatles
did was great,
and it's hard to improve on.
They were our Bach.
The way to get around it
may be to keep it as
simple as possible.
T-Bone Burnett

You have to give people something to dream on.
Jimi Hendrix

There are only three things that America will be remembered
for 2000 years from now when they study this civilization:
The Constitution, jazz music, and baseball.
These are the three most beautiful things
this culture's ever created.
Gerald Early

The Blues are the true facts of life
expressed in words and song, inspiration,
feeling, and understanding.
Willie Dixon

To the magnificent Woodie Guthrie
and Robert Johnson who sparked it off.

of the world is the visible,
not the invisible.

all I play is truth and emotion.
Jimi Hendrix

What do you do with
what you're given,
and how do you transform it
into something worthwhile?
Donald Fagen

When the power of love
overcomes the love of power
the world will know peace.
Jimi Hendrix

The creative person is more primitive,
more cultivated, more destructive,
a lot madder, and a lot saner,
than the average person.
Frank Barron

All the works of man have
their origin in creative fantasy.
What right have we then
to depreciate imagination.
Carl Jung

One of the greatest necessities
in America is to discover creative solitude.
Carl Sandburg

Nature always begins by resisting the artist,
but he who really takes it seriously,
he will not be put off by that opposition.

Letter from Vincent van Gogh
to his brother Theo van Gogh
October 12, 1881

I know how to get there,
all I've got to do is keep playing.
Jimmy Page

Birth is the sudden
opening of a window,
through which you look
out upon a stupendous prospect.
For what has happened?
A miracle.
You have exchanged nothing
for the possibility of everything.
Willie Dixon

The thing that is making jazz healthy today is
that people are coming out of other backgrounds
from rock, folk, from ethnic music.
It's changing the music,
and for the better.
Billy Taylor

I figured out early on what I wanted to do.
T-Bone Burnett

Why did they keep
changing guitars
and amplifiers when
they were perfect?
They did the same
things with cars,
if you ask me.
They forgot how
to make them right,
because they focused
on style and bells
and whistles.
Buddy Guy

Music, of course, is what I hear

is daring to dare.
Maya Angelou

Take pride in your pain;
you are stronger than those who have none.
Lois Lowry

The story of life is quicker then the blink of an eye,
the story of love is hello, goodbye.
Jimi Hendrix

My definition of blues is that it's a musical form
which is very disciplined and structured,
coupled with a state of mind.
You can have either of those things,
but it's the two together
that make blues what it is.
And you need to be a student for one,
and a human being for the other,
but those things alone don't do it.
Eric Clapton

I never liked jazz music because jazz music doesn't resolve.
But, I was outside the Bagdad Theater in Portland one night
when I saw a man playing the saxophone.
I stood there for fifteen minutes,
and he never opened his eyes.
After that I liked jazz music.
Sometimes you have to watch somebody
love something before you can love it yourself.
It is as if they are showing you the way.
Donald Miller

The blues is the mother of American music.
That's what it is - the source.
B.B. King

Poetry, like jazz,
is one of those dazzling
diamonds of creative industry
that help human beings make sense
out of the comedies and tragedies
that contextualize our lives.

You have to go on and be crazy.
Craziness is like heaven.
Jimi Hendrix

Robert Johnson's music
sent me reeling.
I couldn't even imagine
how someone could play
the guitar the way he did
and sing at the same time.
Bonnie Raitt

All music is blues, all of it.
George Carlin

It's a real discovery of your inner resources.
That's what my character is all about
and what my playing is all about,
to get up there and just go inside,
and draw out something that makes
you feel good first and foremost.
Eric Clapton

Thank God for the journey.
James Brown
