Pour Guys

Tempest is a long standing bar located in the Natoma Alley off of 5th street. It has a long history with a beautiful rustic brick interior. We'll be here for you after a long days work, ready with a shot and a beer.

My Son's First Bar

My son Joey Christensen is co-owner of two bars in San Francisco, California, the Tempest Bar & Grill and Louie's Bar & Grill. He and his partners have worked very hard over the last several years building their businesses under the Pour Guys logo. In May 2015, the first bar they opened, Tempest Bar & Grill, won the award from SFWeekly for Best Local Dive Bar. As a father, of course, I'm proud of my son and his partners' accomplishments. I hope, when you're visiting San Francisco sometime, that you will take the oportunity to check out one or both of his bars. I am confident you'll have a really good time. ---Tim Christensen

Located behind the Chronicle Building on an unlovely stretch of Natoma, the Tempest is a long-standing bar with a rustic interior of exposed brick and faded pool tables where bike messengers stand shoulder-to-shoulder with nobs looking for a nightcap after a fancy dress at the Old Mint. Despite the sticker-clad bathroom walls (and there are many, many stickers) and loud sports broadcasts playing in the background, The Tempest allows you to shed all pretentions and just enjoy a nice beer or cocktail and unwind, without any strings attached. If you’re feeling a mite puckish afterwards, the Box Kitchen next door serves bar snacks until late at night.---SFWeekly

Louie's Bar & Grill

My Son's Second Bar

In the spring of 2013, the team took over Louie’s Bar and Grill – a Financial District favorite. A former whalers’ bar with roots dating back to 1930, Louie’s maintains its old school charm while combining enough class for a client lunch.

Louie’s is a slightly more sophisticated version of its sister bar, the Tempest, though still maintains its dive bar DNA with exposed brick walls, long-standing regulars, and unassuming vibe. The bar is also open until 2 AM, making it a late night favorite after much of the surrounding Financial District has closed up shop.

Louie’s is also known for its menu. Former Michael Mina vet Stephen Crawford and the Pour Guys were determined to make the burger one of the very best in the city. Aptly named The Burger – topped with bacon, bourbon BBQ jam, potato sticks, aioli, and argula – it does not disappoint.

Louie’s is the kind of bar that will become your go-to happy hour, lunch, or post-work haunt.
