The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has created a line of products to benefit organizations working to support protesters demonstrating nationwide over racial inequality and police brutality.
100% of the proceeds will go to support organizations that encourage peaceful protesters and work to dismantle systemic racism: The NAACP, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, National Bail Out organization, and National Urban League. Colbert says the four organizations "are doing vital work to help peaceful protesters address the inherent racism in our society."
Colbert is calling for American citizens to be their own president and to set an example of the kind of country we want to live in. He says, "Of course, a big part of being a leader is directing resources to the people who most need it. But another big part is having cool stuff with your presidential logo on it. So, we've decided to help with both."
The merchandise with a "Be Your Own President" seal includes a coffee mug, a t-shirt, a facemask, and a pint glass. All are available on CBS's online store.
