The Rabid Wolf

A lone enraged bear is formidable and intimidating to a wolf. A lone girl is easy prey. The wolf ran into Magnolia’s path and crouched low. He snarled and bared his sharp teeth. His matted fur hung from his emaciated back and ribs. He was hurt, one ear caked with blood, a front paw split open and swollen, and he had a deep gash on his chest.

Magnolia’s shouted and threw a chunk of wood at his sore foot, hitting it hard. The wolf yelped and retreated defensively, but he smelled her fear. Her carelessness, it could cause her death at any moment. With a swift jump, the wolf could take her down, and then rip out her throat. Magnolia’s had one slim chance to save herself, just one. She had it only because the wolf was wounded.
